My Ex Died This Morning

    Some of you have kept up with my crazy life and knew that my ex girlfriend was in a hospice with end stage cancer. She died early this morning.

    I need some good right now.

    So sorry for your loss. It's never easy, even if it was expected. Two years ago my wife and I were very close to separating when she died very suddenly and unexpectedly. Despite all the hurt going on in our relationship at the time, I still cried for weeks afterwards. Talking to others who have lost loved ones is what really helped me. My best to you.

    My gosh... I'm so sorry. You're in my thoughts. I lost someone I loved recently. Although 30 years had passed since we were a couple, I have grieved like I've never grieved in my life. Take your time... Allow yourself to grieve.

    My sincere condolences biotech. Even if expected, the mourning and letting go, can only begin now. And only now can you say that she was truly yours for a time; in those memories that will last forever.

    Remember, in a way, she will always be alive (in your memories, at least).

    Still, I can only imagine this would be devastating. Even if she was your ex (as opposed to your current partner). Not that that makes any difference. Death is death. Just like mourning is mourning and love is love. All three are universal and should not be trivialized.

    Ex or not, she was a part of your life. Parts of our lives, however they were, are hard to part with. They are familiar and they were people who impacted us. It sounds like, over time, it had become amicable and you felt compassion and concern. I am sorry for your loss and the trying emotions you may be going through.
