I just read this country singer's memoir about coming out at 40. It was so meaningful to me. She knew she was gay but didn't want to be and tried not to be. She talks about how dating men didn't work. And how staying in the closet when she did have a relationship with a woman was so poisonous. She came out at age 40. I highly recommend it. I read it in a day (my daughter has strep throat, so I had some time!)
Chely Wright's story has been such an amazing gift. It's so touching, and I really hope it gets people talking more honestly to family and friends that might be gay and going through similar experiences.
