When did u know?

Hi,

I don't know if it was something I discovered on a day. What day did I discover my blue eyes, they were just always that way.

When did I figure out I could not evade being gay? Age 55, 2013.

I had been active with guys from about age 10-11. Started with strip poker and progressed into strip poker with penalties. I and my friend enjoyed the penalties. Right and wrong never entered our minds, it was natural.

Hard to answer. First time realized I was in love with a girl and then started physical/romantic relationship with her age 17-18, 1992-1993.

Fully accepted myself as a lesbian: age 38, 2013.

 

I always knew in a way. example: locker room, 5th grade, classmate walks out of shower naked, no one bats an eye while Im basically drooling with my jaw on the floor

 

1. First had an inkling I was different--- in grade school; that I was attracted to guys, age 13.

2. At age 13--1957.

3. Accepted that I was gay: Age 69, January, 2014!

 

I was pretty unbelievably clueless about sexuality in general, gay or straight, but I recall seeing one classmate naked in the showers in 7th grade (age 12, like 1973) and couldn't take my eyes off of him. That was--or should have been--the first crystal clear indication. And in freshman biology 2 years later, when the teacher explained (straight) sex, my first thought was, why would ANYONE want to do that?! Didn't stop me from getting married and having a couple kids, of course.

As far as accepting, FULLY accepting, it wasn't until I was 50, in 2011, although I had definitely known for years by then.

 

1. How old were u when u discovered u were gay - Probably aged 13 or so - seeing one of my classmates get changed for sports and not being able to take my eyes off him! Did I 'discover' I was gay then? Probably not, and didn't think that there was anything untoward about how I felt.

3. How old were u when u accepted you were gay. - Haha! That's a good one. I probably knew that I had feelings for guys through my young adult life, but it took me until I was 40 to finally come out and say those words out loud to another person. And I look back and wonder why it took me so long, and why I hadn't done it when I was 19.

First knew - when I had 1st girlfriend in high school. Just didn't feel right so only lasted a few months so 1988

First accepted and admitted it Nov 6,2013

 

MAybe wondered if I was when I was a teenager, although never had an romantic or sexual feelings. Repressed them down. Got a gf, felt alright having sex. Went out clubbing had loads of sex with women... met my fiance... sex was GREAT at first. Then some guy at work started coming on to me. All these feelings exploded. There is no getting away from it really. Gonna have to face the cold hard truth.... at 29 years old. Seriously never had a sexual feeling for a man before this age. Not even a little bit.

I think I first knew I was gay when I spent my junior year at the University of London...I was too scared to do anything physically about it...I spent most of my time going to bars in Earls Court and then lighting candles and praying at Brompton Oratory to have the temptations removed. So about age 20. Although certainly I appreciated what I saw in locker rooms at an earlier age, but I was really naive. It was more about form rather than function.

Accepting being "gay" is easy, well not easy, November 2013. Acknowledging publicly is easy too, January, 2014.

But when I first saw the start of this thread late last night, I thought, "What is this about, some 14-year-old asking when we knew, in the Later in Life forum? Who is this little s**t?"

Yeah, yeah, I know, complete overreaction. And I apologize to you, Sup2345. Because reading the replies like this, all in one place, makes me feel really, really good!

No analysis required. I get it.

 

1. I discovered I was gay around age 9, 10, 11.

3. I only accepted my sexual orientation last year at age 26.

Ok... I knew at an early age (7 or 8) that I felt 'different'... By about 14 I knew I liked boys. Between 18 and 21 I explored my sexuality... Then for ungodly reason got married. About age 45 realized that I was no longer interested in heterosexual sex... Age 51... Oh my God, I'm gay!

My first gay encounter was around the age of ten. That would have been 1973. I accepted being bi' at age 35 and only came out as gay last summer 2013.

 

1. Started to think I might be gay at 12, became 100% sure of it when I was 14.
2. 2013. October.
3. 14. I had no problem accepting it, since I had already considered the possibility for so long.
