No compaints from from me. I grew up with half the family having brogues, kilts, and shortbread with tea, on occasion haggis. It's like scrapple. Here's the thing, for such small areas you guys seem over-represented. I'll throw myself into the mix, because I'm first generation on my Daddy's side. Water, mutations, grey skies, too much dairy, genes. Should we all make plans to move to one or the other. The idea being the more the merrier. :eusa_danc

    Hmmm, Tim, I dunno.

It would take me no more than half a chance to get me to move to Scotland.

Wisconsin...not so much. Although I suppose that if *half* the population of Scotland moved the Wisconsin (fat chance), there'd be more room for me and my partner there, job-wise and house-wise.

It is kind of weird....although I recall when I first got here I looked excitedly for ANYONE else from the Badger State, without much success. Now suddenly we're popping up all over the place. Could be this never-ending winter cycle of snow, Arctic cold, repeat ad nauseum that is forcing us all to stay cooped up and think a little more than we have in the past? No accounting for the Scots thing, though. So do we need to be the "Kilted Gay Badger Brotherhood"?

I have a pinterest board of pics of men in kilts - guess you know what I think :icon_bigg

That said, never been to Scotland, and met plenty of hot men in kilts here in the USA

Scotland has one of the worst life expectancies in the whole of the UK... Not sure why

:icon_redf i hope he meant a badger in a kilt...

even though I'm a native Florida boy, I don't mind the frozen tundra all that much (except of course when it's -15 and the lab thinks it's the perfect time to spend 10 minutes rolling in the fresh snow :eusa_naug ). That being said, once I get the domestics resolved :bang: , all I need is to renew the passport and book a one-way flight to Heathrow... :eusa_danc

probably the extra stress of being closeted? God know my health took a nose-dive over the last 8 years (wait for part 5 or 6 on my blog...) :icon_wink

Hmmm. Scotland - where it rains for half the year (not all in one go although it feels like it sometimes), snow bound for a quarter of it, light sunshine and freezing gales for the remaining quarter, with a long weekend called summer in the middle of August... But it's home! And, I must say I look quite handsome in a kilt...

There does seem to be a disproportionately large amount of Scots here.

American born for me though, with US dad and Scot mum, raised by her in Scotland.

Hmmm. It could be the generally poor diet, the 'relationship' with alcohol and smoking, general lack of exercise, etc. (these are wide sweeping generalisations, but go some way towards supporting what the Scottish Govt is doing in relation to restrictions on smoking/sales of cigarettes, alcohol pricing, etc.).

Just checked, it's 81 in the UK as a whole (2013) and 78.9 in Scotland (2012).

    Not that big a difference.

I see more Americans wearing kilts here (in Scotland) than Scots.
And I can't stand haggis, haha.

The badger is for our Wisconson brothers.

Check out my wall. skiff posted an interesting study that may spread some "light" on the issue.

doesn't sound much different from Wisconsin... or the whole diet, exercise, smoking and drinking thing either.

Sounds like the KGBBS will need a dual headquarters in WI & Scotland. Too bad I don't have some secluded lake property to set up a proper lodge setting!
Goals are important in life, maybe something to work towards....

Speaking of things Scottish, I'm watching Norway kick our butts in curling.

count me in on the Scottish side. My grandfather was born in Scotland and lived there until he came over as a teenager.

Count me for Wisconsin! Born and raised here, and I love it. While the political climate has changed recently I have a feeling that it will swing back soon.

Though I've never been to Scotland. Not a big fan of kilts... Or whiskey...

I love my arctic wasteland :icon_bigg
