On and off I see references to certain songs that have moved us in our threads, I thought it may be cool to just see what's moving some of us right now... Events in my life are often marked by the music I was listening to during that period. I know that a few of us have shared some songs in the past. Participate if you wish... or find something that moves you here if you can.

If I had to have a song that's my current anthem it's 'Uncharted' by Sarah Bareilles... Here's a link to the video and lyrics.

Lyrics: SARA BAREILLES LYRICS - Uncharted

Right now, because my wife and I are divorcing and despite all the crap that goes with it, "For Good" from Wicked.

I'll try to bring up the link.
For Good lyrics Wicked - YouTube

    Yeah, I did it (!)(!)(!)(!)(!)

Music has always moved me, and although Brave and Same Love are my current anthems, this has spoken to me across the years:

Lyle Lovett - If I Were The Man You Wanted - YouTube

Disclaimer here... I'm not generally a fan of C&W music, but Lyle Lovett has always struck me as being a one-of-a-kind songwriter and performer. Saw him live in SF almost 30 years ago--quite the performer, too.

I couldn't watch the video, but I read the lyrics. Beautiful... And so fitting, I think, for all of us gay married folk. Thanks!

One of my favourite songs is The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. You may be more familiar with the Roberta Flack version which is beautiful, sultry and slow, but I also fell in love with this Canadian version, sung by none other than Gordon Lightfoot:

Yes, believe it or not, I am a hopeless, truly hopeless, romantic...

    Here is Roberta's version:

Yaaaas! I'm not picky on my taste but it HAS to be something you can dance to. Opera, metal, and country is a no no :eusa_naug

When I'm introspective, my mind settles on the Floyd. "Comfortably Numb" (hello...is there anybody in there?), "Us and Them"

Bonnie Raitt's 'I will not be broken' got a lot of play time a few years back.

Some really great music here... For some of you I've seen post frequently, your selections are not surprising, I guess our music styles often reflect our personalities.

Except you Rich! (I'm just kidding)

To all, thanks for sharing. I'm enjoying your music.

    Hi All,

    Speaking of dancing...

It takes a lot of alcohol to get me to dance but once up I enjoy it.

    Anybody else like that?

That is the only thing left I have not done with a man.

Even when partnered I never danced with my partner. We were closeted with no venue for it.

I am hoping the right dance partner comes along. All slow dances please.

    Tom
