Hi all, As I wind my way along my personal path I have stumbled onto discussions about the expectation of being a 'perfect boy' as I grew up. Indeed, many of us grew up trying to be "the perfect boy" in every way, including the "correct expression of sexuality". As a consequence of that I, and I know others, have suppressed our ability to 'feel' and just 'be' who we are. I have to say this "male" version of Let it Go got to me particularly. Let It Go - Male Vocal Cover - Frozen (Soundtrack) - YouTube (hope I've inserted the link correctly)
Hey - thanks for posting that. I'd actually never listened to the whole song before. (perhaps the only person on the planet) so it was good to listen. Yes - it does strike a cord with someone who has held a lot inside for a long time. We need to just let it go.
I (obviously) relate. Though in my case, yes, "the perfect girl" struck a chord inside of me. Elsa's repression is a mirror image. Still working on letting it go .
I have to agree. This song is certainly relatable to how being closeted and coming out felt. Eventually, you do have to let it go.
Ditto - I finally watched Frozen with my wife a month or so ago. When I heard that song, I identified with it so deeply. I find this version powerful too.
