I'm feeling OK with myself and my (low) level of "out"-ness, which is why I haven't posted much recently. But I think it's important to share a good experience I had. Some of you may remember I tried some gay group activities which didn't appeal to me, and I have no interest in bars/clubs. So I started my own group (with very low expectations) and met some guys for dinner this past weekend. 2 guys (out of 6) showed up. Turns out we had a lot in common — same age, same faith (which is important to all of us), very similar experiences, etc. With a busy life, the whole process of starting the group was a bit much, so I dropped it. But I did make 2 friends, which is more than enough for me right now. So I thought I'd share that...
That's really good news...nice to share positive experiences as well...made me smile thinking of it even though it was nothing to do with me, thank you and may your friendships go from strength to strength
Wow! That's great! 2 out of 6 isn't bad at all--what baseball player batting .333 would complain? And friends have friends so the networking has begun. Good job!
Great news! Hopefully I can find some guys with common interests too. Similar experiences? not sure lol.
Wonderful news! This could form the nucleus of an eventually much larger group, you would be surprised how fast that can happen! (have a Tupperware party! )
Thanks to all for your kind support. We were all surprised at the similarities in our lives – especially about our religion. But the most common thread was the similarity in/feelings about the "coming out" process. We joined some of the same groups at different times – so we had a lot to talk about.
