I was mulling my thoughts over a coffee and yummy lunch at a cafe today when I decided that I should get serious about socialising a little in some LGBT communities but I have been unsure in how to best find any as other searches have led me to nothing but health clinics, etc.

The answer came to me tonight while clearing out one of my email accounts. Meet Up.

Yes, I put the search into Meet Up and expressed an interest in a few. None of them are local but a trip into the city. Just 90 minutes each other approximately. It's a start.

I tried looking into such groups years ago but I kept coming across sex focused only. I'm interested in meeting others to talk, etc as the main focus. This looks like it's a good start, hopefully.
