Today is my first since coming out. How was yours? My wife has said she wants flowers and chocolates. But I'm not really in the mood to celebrate

Are you joking? I thought you had split up, why does she want flowers?

Mine was 2 weeks ago. The day before, we had a rare in person conversation and I acknowledged it was going to be a tough day for both of us. She cried. I gave her a card with a note I had written (it was not an anniversary card). On the actual day, I had the kids and she went to spend the day with her parents. That was the last big milestone date before it will be a year since I came out to her.

She said she expected something but I'm not feeling it tbh

Not after she told me she sold her wedding ring.

No flowers. No cards. No candy. Use your words instead. Communication is a better gift anyway.

That's a pretty amazing level of gall, Ritchie! I'm kinda in awe.

Make a donation in her name to an LGBT charity/cause.

Wow, that takes a big set of ____ to ask for that given what you are going through. At most, maybe a card, but even that seems like an empty gesture... :frowning2:

I don't think that you're in anyway obligated to celebrate with her. Why should you?
