So this is sort of a special milestone for EC.

Some months ago, I posted a link to an interview posted by the marvelous people at TheQuestAwaitsYou.com, a group based in and around London that runs workshops and programs aimed specifically at gay men, on all sorts of different issues related to personal growth and self-exploration.

The interview was with Brene Brown, and was unusual in that it is one of the only ones where Brene's shame resilience/authenticity/vulnerability work is discussed specifically toward gay men. That posting started a conversation with the team that runs The Quest, and it turns out several EC members have participated in events run by The Quest.

We've long planned to begin reaching out to bricks-and-mortar programs and find ways to cooperate with programs that are in keeping with the values and goals that govern ECCS, the nonprofit organization that runs EC. The admin team and board has discussed it, and we are pleased to announce the first "partnership" EC has made to announce events with an organization in the bricks-and-mortar world.

The Quest's team of coaches will be running these workshops. They have been running workshops for several years, and their team recently completed the Daring Way training, a professional training for clinicians and coaches based on the work of Brene Brown, and taught by Brene and her team. (This is the same training that Tyler, one of our board members and I attended as well.)

I've heard nothing but good things about the work of The Quest, and we've been able to arrange a special discount of 15% off of the regular tuition rate for any EC member or reader. This is, as far as I know, a benefit extended only to EC members/readers, and we're very pleased to be able to coordinate with The Quest to make it available.

To be clear, The Quest is running these events and is entirely responsible for all activities and programmatic material at the events. EC's only connection is that we've arranged the discount and are making our community aware of the events.

Here's a description of the workshops they are currently offering:

They have a London Workshop coming up starting on Friday 12 Sept. Closing date for registrations is 5 Sept.

They also have a Wales workshop starting on 24 October.

Wales - The Quest Workshop comes to Cardiff! | The QuestThe Quest

To get the special EC discount, use code EC15. If you have any other questions about the events, please contact The Quest, as the EC staff doesn't have any more information than what's on the website.

If you have any general questions or comments that are EC related, please feel free to post here.
