Four years ago, Ray Andrews, Priest in Charge of the Anglican church of St George the Martyr in London came out to his congregation. In the week leading up to his coming out he allowed a television crew to record a documentary. First Cut: Father Ray Comes Out on Vimeo The Church of England allows gay clergy, but expects them to remain celibate, whether or not they are in a relationship. It's a tension that Father Ray confronts in the documentary when asked what would happen if he met someone. He also explains why he is coming out now and he shares his fears, anxieties and personal struggles with viewers. Even if you are not religious, or later life, you may find this documentary interesting. ---------- Post added 15th Sep 2014 at 07:58 PM ---------- Just to add, there is a two minute pause in the middle of the film (commercial break!)
Thanks for sharing this Linco. A true act of bravery as is every coming out. I'm just glad I didn't have to do it with tv cameras rolling and in front of a congregation
