I was feeling kind of gay the other day so I put on a pride bracelet and went on to work. We have two new interns now and I was training one of them. After sitting down next to me and getting started on his training this new guy said, "Is that a pride bracelet?". I grinned and said, "Most definitely!". He asked it was easy to be out here (at work) because he is gay. I told him that nobody would give him any grief and in time would probably tease him in jest like they do me, and I do them. Kinda cool! We are now planning on taking over our company. :roflmao:
When I first started working where I work at now, my coworkers most definitely noticed my pride bracelet. I mean, it was such a relief to know that I could be out at work and without being judged. I mean, honestly, no one cares about my sexuality because I've met a lot of open minded people. I think a few were surprised, but who doesn't like surprises... And I think it's great that you have made this connection with someone who is just like you. It makes things much easier knowing that you are not alone, especially at work.
I just sent for my first ever pride jewelry this past Thursday. It should arrive tomorrow or the next day. I am excited. Thanks for the awesome story, Biotech49!
I was just thinking that we are a small company, about twelve people, maybe twenty in busy seasons. So, that makes us about 16% of the employees. Bwahahahaha... But he's new and doesn't know much yet....
