I travelled back home to my parents and family for the first time since coming out a year ago. It has been surprisingly calm, and they all seem glad to see me and catch up on our lives. I have also met with several long time friends, and in the course of conversations told them I came to realize that I am gay. Unlike other times, I didn't feel like I had to explain, I could just say it. The conversations were natural, and could see that they adjusted fine.

Wow.. How awesome is that!? I'm just getting to know some ppl in a card/ boar game club I just joined. I hope that when the time is right I can come out the way you did. Just tell them and not feel the need to explain or defend etc..

Isn't it great knowing you don't have to hide and you can just be you!?

Good on ya, BeingEarnest! So glad it went well!
