I've been scanning the meetup groups in my area for quite sometime now and I finally attended my first meetup today. I was extremely nervous but everyone was friendly and welcoming. It went really well, lots of attractive and eligible women there. I got a few numbers, but I'm just looking to make friends and be around like minded people at this point. A couple of the ladies invited me to brunch tomorrow hopefully all goes well. :icon_wink
I'm about to have brunch with a couple of the ladies that I met yesterday. Taking that first step was not easy, but I'm glad that I did. I'm smiling from ear to ear, the fear of coming out is slowly lifting. Maybe you could sign up for groups that are a few towns away like I did. That made it easier for me.
So pleased for you! I was just looking at a meetup a couple towns away from me, but not sure I've got the courage to go yet - sounds like it'd be worth it though, judging from your experience!

Brunch was great, I actually have a lot in common with one of the ladies. Same Law school, avid runners, travelled the world etc, etc. She's 10 years older but boy is she beautiful! We sat by the beach and chatted for quite some time after our meetup; I felt like a high school kid all over again. This might sound silly but being in such close proximity of another woman and having her tell you that your beautiful felt really good.(*hug*)
