I've kind of become passive just "listening in" on the female discussions. Fascinating and kind of intimidating...I wish I could be so open.

Seems challenges of self awareness and acceptance have no gender boundaries.

One of the things I've noticed about EC since joining is that it works well because we are open in our posts and in our advice. I'm really pleasantly surprised that this forum is able to function on this level of understanding-we are able to help each other with major questions about sexuality and life, while on most tech forums you can't even get help for your phone not backing up properly without the grammar trolls or the inevitable "I don't understand what you're talking about. Please describe the problem more clearly..." It's put my faith back in people's ability to use the internet for good, one of its strong points.
I have read a lot of very open posts from males here, but yes, for the last few weeks, it has been female dominated, and the posts have been very touching and thought provoking. Maybe it cycles like that...one post awakens something in another person.

I agree with everything there, we seem to be safe little oasis in a sea of sharks. I think openness contributes to EC's effectiveness too. We all sort of inspire each other. And guys, don't be afraid to join in. You're always welcome to any discussion, personality traits cross gender barriers.

Finally a place where I can just be MYSELF. So tired and frustrated with running into the constant gender roles and expectations of society. I joined here awhile ago, but really have just become a member, realizing the great potential this community has for self-expression and support. At no time to I write as a man, I simply write/share from my own perspective of 50 years on this orb. So happy to post/reflect and wishing everyone well. Good morning - J

Agreed, this forum is wonderful. Maybe it's because the situations we face evoke a lot of humility. I think it's beautiful to see everyone open up and it gives me a bit of strength in the day just to remember that EC exists.

I think it's cute/sweet when women are open. It's the nurturing/lovey dovey side of women I can't seem to resist! xx

The month I've been on this forum has seriously probably been the most thought provoking and eye opening times of my life. I don't think I could have joined at a better time, considering the amount of women going thru almost the exact thing I am right now I've never felt so quickly bonded to complete strangers.

Even though it is anonymous, I still think about and 'worry' about folks on here... I just don't know anyone's name!

I agree with what some others have said: this forum is amazing. I'm a member of around a half-dozen, large sites and active forums, and EC seems entirely unique, in that people here don't segregate themselves based on their orientation or gender or what-have-you. In my experience, this place is pretty bloody unique.
