It's time for me to shake things up. I can tell that I'm stuck in one hell of a rut, spending my time doing the same old things, talking to the same (few) people, even going to the same Web sites over and over (though this one's okay). And I've been doing this for probably years. I'm tired of it.

So I've started training for a 10k (I'm on day 2, but so what?). I'm going to a local outdoor club meeting/lecture next week with an eye toward going hiking or something with them, which is something I've wanted to do for a while anyway. I'm sure there's a third thing I could/should be doing, but I'll think of it later.

It's just time to do something a little different around here.

Good for you for attempting to change things up! It's definitely good to allow yourself to try out new things once in a while. I hope it works and everything goes well, and that your life will be more pleasing and full of new experiences.

Good luck with your training and have fun!

Good job. Once I get past the holidays I need to do some rut busting myself.

I've already started to make some progress. I'm drinking less (it was a bit of a problem before), and I'm going to the gym now. I've actually started slimming down, though I can still get strung out on cookies with no problem. ;-) And I'm less dependent on one person in particular. My sexuality is still an issue, though. I want to make it no longer an issue, no longer a problem in my own mind or point of shame, but I'm not there right this second. I'll get there.

Wow! So cool! Joining clubs and activities is always a great way to break out of the mold. Congrats on taking the step!
