Being gay and not knowing it, an analogy.

    It took me forever to figure out I was gay. All the clues and behavior traits were there, starting at age ~14.

    Being gay and not knowing it is akin to getting a lobotomy in the early 1900s, lets say the 40s or 50s. Basically a metal rod is rammed into your brain cavity via your nasal passage(s) and poof, you are change. The cranial insertion may be a single thrust or the powers to be my twirl the rod a bit for shits and giggles.

    The main difference is, with a gay person, they may discover their innate identity - maybe. Will they live a full and happy life? Who knows.
