This past week I attended a multi day professional function and brought my Fiancé with me. While he did not join the business meetings themselves, he did join me for all of the social functions that took place. Lunches, dinners and other social events where other industry competitors and participants brought there spouses as well.

Those in attendance traveled from all over the world - China, Malaysia, Singapore, U.K., Germany, Brazil and the US, to name a few. A massive number of cultures were present.

We were the only LGBT couple in attendance. Everyone, and I mean everyone, interacted with us without any appearance of concern. And more so, everyone made us feel welcomed and comfortable, as if we were just another couple and part of the group.

What a great way to help me continue to build confidence and reinforce all the reasons why I made the decisions I made over these most recent years.

That's fabulous. I think doing this does tons for the LGBT cause in that people who do not normally interact (to the best of their knowledge) with the LGBT community get to know us and I really think that's the most helpful thing that can be done. You fear what you do not know.

This is amazing! It's great that you feel comfortable enough with yourself to bring your fiancé to the conference and that the attendees were comfortable with you as a couple. Bravo to you both!

Awesome! That had to have been (a least a little) stressful beforehand and really brave! Bravo!!! Sounds like you both did an excellent job just being you and everyone else did too. It's the little things like that which blossom into huge, phenomenally-great things like you just experienced.

So happy for you and your fiancé! :icon_bigg :eusa_clap

We just landed back in London, and having talked about it on our flight back, we discussed how it was actually no big deal, and how far people have come. Now, I am sure a few probably commented amongst themselves; but not a single outward expression or comment of concern from anyone.

..and I even picked up business from it!
