I've been having no success with online dating, so I'm trying to go to as many events at my local LGBT community center as possible. I was at a monthly get together there last night. Usually afterwards some of us go out to dinner as a group. Last night nobody was free for dinner but me and 1 other guy. Happy coincidence, since I was trying to get up the nerve to ask him out anyway. We were at the restaurant for almost 3 hours and had a great talk. Before we said good night, we exchanged numbers and agreed we should do this again soon. Time will tell.

Congrats - this is great news. Gay dating is tough, and it's great that you are trying to cast a wide net with dating sites and by attending many LGBT events. Your efforts seem to be paying off, even if in unexpected ways. Don't be surprised if you find a connection serendipitously.

    Keep it up (!)

I never tried gay online dating (maybe that was my problem), but the online dates I went on with men just all felt like flipping job interviews. Now maybe if it had been a woman.....

Oh well, I went the serendipitous route and much prefer it as well.
