Lately, I have been wanting to commune with other LGBTQ members, other women and also get back into karaoke. I just checked meetup.com and found a 20's and 30's lesbian/bisexual women's only group that does monthly karaoke. Well, hot damn. I told my partner and he is encouraging me to go. Like he said, it is important to my growth but I don't know. I am very happy with him (I mean, come on, not many guys would urge their partner to put themselves out there like that) and don't want to 'advertise', so to speak. Then again, it's just a fun night, right? It might be nice to at least bond over singing and maybe get hit on by a woman for a change (okay, maybe wishful thinking) even if I don't want it to go anywhere right now. Thoughts? I have a feeling you will all tell me to go for it.
Yeah! The great thing is, I checked meetup 3 months ago and there was only a couple lesbian only meetups in my area (that I wouldn't feel right joining). Now I found two bisexual support groups have been added.
If I had a chance to go to a LGBT karaoke Meetup, I'd jump at it totally! Go for it! Let us know how it goes.
