Ah guys, I shouldn't complain, things are going well overall, my journey is progressing, but sometimes other areas of life press in on me from all directions, especially the stress of parenting; and everything starts to get...exhausting. There's a weird family drama happening right now that's actually making me feel pretty sad as well. And yeah, like I said in my "Gaying out" thread, I want to keep moving forward, and sometimes etching out just a little time for myself is nearly impossible. But that stuff is going to get sorted. I feel like things are going the way they should. I just feel right now like - f** all this noise. I want some distraction, let's talk about something funny, silly, happy. Funny stories? Memes? Success stories? Anyone? I'm trying to think of a funny story to start the ball rolling. All I can think of right now is our visit to a museum, and my daughter talking *loudly* about how "mens wee with their penis, but you don't have a penis mama, no, but Aba does"! (Aba means Dad) and of course she repeated this like 5 times :lol: I have a "success story" sort of. I think I accidentally outed myself at work, and I was *happy* about it, rather than nervous/embarrassed/insecure. In fact I usually feel this way lately- I am who I am, whatevs, who cares who knows. A few minutes later one of my female coworkers, the girl I outed myself to, started chatting to everyone at the table about her wife, and I was all like, hey, she's gay, awesome!
How about a mildly funny success story? So, I came out as bi to my band a week and a half ago. They were supportive, especially my guitar player. The drummer was the one I was most worried about. He still has a Mitt Romney '12 sticker on his car, and he once wore a Donald Trump t-shirt to one of our shows. Yikes! Last night, we played an outdoor beer-garden show. While we're playing, I noticed a group of guys come in and talk with the drummer's wife, then a couple of them come up front and dance to the music we're playing. One of the couple looks almost exactly like my drummer! At the break, I met them. The guy that looks like my drummer is actually my drummer's younger gay brother, and the guy dancing with him is his husband of 4 years. LOL! Turns out the drummer's wife is a big LGBT supporter and had been spreading the word about her husband's bassist coming out as bi. I think the best thing of all was that it all felt good, and surprisingly fairly normal, to me. I hope that means I'm getting the hang of this Out And Proud thing. LOL. Cheers to you, baristajedi!

So, a minor happiness, but still made my day yesterday. I went for my regular diabetic checkup appointment yesterday afternoon. My doctor, her PA, and several of the nurses know I am gender fluid and occasionally wear women's clothes. As part of the checkup, they have to look at my feet. One of the nurses was examining my feet, and I got the NICEST compliment on my cute sandals I was wearing from one of the other girls. It made me feel so good.
