Guys!!! My support group has been publicised! I'm really excited! I'm starting a support group, with the support of my local LGBT centre for people like us coming out later in life. And it's finally published in the flyer and on the website :icon_bigg (Some of you guys in Edinburgh expressed interest in this, take note, it's running as a one-off but it will hopefully attract enough interest to be an on-going group. I'll try to contact anyone who's asked me about this as well, so that anyone who wants to can come along) Here's the announcement.... --- Thursday 29 September Coming Out Later in Life|6:30-8:30pm LGBT Health is exploring the set-up of a new community-led support group of people who are coming out later in life. This unique one-off taster event will provide a safe, supportive and discreet space for people who feel they are coming out ‘later' in life as LGBT+. Meet people, hear other stories & share your own if you feel comfortable. Examples of those who might find the event beneficial include people coming out after being married or in a long-term relationship or coming out after having children.
Thanks Siennafire I'm hoping people show up... At the very least, I've already met a very nice woman who went trough this experience 10 years ago. She was around for my discussion with the person in the centre helping me start the group.
Thanks! I will actually be sharing my story, out loud as a group leader, with a group of strangers. I think it will be cathartic. And I'm hoping that it is cathartic and helpful for anyone who attends.
