Anyone remember the anti drug service announcement for crack or meth in the USA? It was an egg frying in a fry pan. The announcer in the vid or test in the magazine pic was, ~"this is your brain on crack" I've observed my own brain on sexual suppression, it was a damn mess. Confusion, depression, logic processing shut down, lack of energy to say just a few. Anyone know what this state of brain is called? I want to research this and cant without a few key words.
I know it is not exactly what you asked for but perhaps reading this will help you find what you need or at least get you started. I am no expert, but I think what you are describing is just the side-effects of using denial as a coping mechanism and the anxiety that comes with that, I don't think there is a specific term for it.
