    Good luck! I have a serious aversion to first dates, but I was just thinking that I've never done it with a woman, so maybe it's just a man thing. Ha.

    I enjoyed getting to text her a lot today. I also lost several hours thinking about hopeful life goals and romance goals (in general, not necessarily this girl) on my hidden pinterest boards. It feels really good to feel like I'm moving towards dreams and happy things, not burying and mourning them.

    I know what you mean. When I really accept that I am gay... REALLY accept it, I feel i am moving towards a dream... and when I crawl out of my repression I realize it was me holding me back - repressing my sexuality, and the fact... even after a hundred 'I am gay ' posts here, accepting I am gay.

    I agree with afgirl.. I am NOT a fan of first dates. But I have only even gone out with men so far. So maybe with a woman I would feel differently.
    I hope you have an amazing time! What a memorable experience!
    I hope one day I too will be out on a first date with a woman. Seems like it would be a game changer.

    I've only had one other date with a woman. It went pretty well imho despite the lack of a second date. I think we both just needed date practice and not jump into a relationship. :slight_smile: it was definitely much better than most first dates with men have been. The little bit of time I have spent on dating apps looking for women versus men, I feel like there are so many more women I have common interests with, and it feels so much more hopeful. I know that should be obvious, cuz orientation, but I think when I was trying to date men, I just kinda thought dating sucked for everyone. It's really nice to feel like I'm capable of dating and a relationship now, where as before I accepted my orientation as ok, I felt really inept. I'm not inept. I just needed to look for people I actually like.

    I just impulsively sent a text that implied tonight might be better than tomorrow to meet for coffee. While this is technically true, my gut is lurching a bit for the possible impulsive change. Blarg.

    To cope, I will watch my kitty clean her face with her paw... yeah, good coping strategy.

    Yay Katchoo! Good luck. And don't get too down if it doesn't go great. My most recent first didn't go great, but I still got a second and a third. And we're planning a 4th, if we ever have time(he lives close kinda, but just far enough to be inconvenient, especially with his weekends taken up by theatre and me being in college).
