I just sent these to a friend of mine: 1. To let go of the final vestiges of heterosexuality that I cling and that have prevented me from being the homosexual I am. 2. To not run away from the truth of my homosexuality, but to embrace and celebrate it. 3. To meet other gay men and see where the truth takes me. 4. To come out to the people who matter to me. 5. To stop worrying about what anybody might think about my being homosexual.
Those are great, I need to do all of those except #4 which I only did recently. Good luck with keeping your resolutions.
Actually, I came out to many of them a few years ago, but then felt uncertain and fell back on being bi. So I don't know how surprised some of them will be if I double-down on gay.
Just to go for it: life, love, happiness, contentment. Can I borrow Shakespeare? 'My crown is in my heart, not on my head; Not decked with diamonds and Indian stones, Nor to be seen: my crown is called content: A crown it is that seldom kings enjoy.' Bring on 2017. Wishing all of you anonymous folks who, without knowing it, have become close advisers all the very best for the year ahead.
