I know that EC doesn't allow off-site contact information to be shared here. But I was wondering if there is such a thing as face-to-face support groups from this site that meet somewhere? I was thinking about coming out to some of my gay/lesbian colleagues in my area, but since I live in a rural location I'm worried to be outed by accident which would be detrimental to my family life in the time being. I thought it'd be nice to have a group of either married/recently divorced closeted/out guys/ladies who could meet and feel secure with each other in the Eastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania area? Any input from others and/or moderator(s) suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hey bearheart, No, there are no face-to-face support groups because it is an anonymous website. However, you can post a thread in the Ask the Staff forum (which will only be able to be read by you and the Staff) to tell them your location and ask if they can assist you with finding such resources in your area.
is there a Pflag group in or near your area? google will tell you this. I found them hugely helpful before I came out, and since.
