I have yet to come out to her (later!) but my daughter will be doing a poster for an anti-homophobia project at her high school.

She will draw a pair of shoes with rainbow laces and the caption beneath it will read:

"Don't judge me until you've walked a day in my shoes"

This will come in handy when I finally do come out to my kids...:icon_bigg

That is great! At my school no one wants to do topics like that because people think it will make them look gay if they give their serious opinion on the subject :frowning2:

Great! I once wrote a 2 page persuasive argument on how gay marriage should be legalized for English! People looked at me strange but I got the best grade and helped people understand a little snippet of the LGBT culture!

  6. So weird, but that's exactly what I've just finished for my Int 2 English folio! I only hope my grade is as good as yours!

I wish my school had done such projects, but they always seem to avoid them. I've brought up the issue at least four times in the past three years, but they always end up doing something on just bullying in general.
Shocking really, considering how many of my fellow students seem to think I'm crazy when I call them out on using words like "gay and "faggot" as an insult.
    You should be really proud!!

That is a great sentiment, but I think a better one would be "Don't judge me and worry about walking in your own damn shoes." But I don't think that one would work at school. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

You can see my daughter's project in my one and only profile album "Me at 26". Nice huh?
