    Greetings folks,

This is a definite year of firsts for me...As I had stated earlier, I had a date this evening...

He's a really nice guy, cute smile, and we talked and talked for about three hours. Even though this was my first formal date, I felt completely comfortable with him, and we had a lot to talk about (given our combined years, no surprise).

He's a computer professional, originally from Venezuela, so naturally we spoke Spanish a little, he's more a man of the world though, he's lived and worked in a few countries and has travelled extensively (speaks four languages, as do I). What I also like about him is that he has many friends. That, to me, is a very good thing.

We exchanged phone numbers and, I guess, there's more to come... :icon_bigg

Its funny we have all know each other for such a short time but I feel proud of great whale and other EC friends each time one of us makes another step forward in living our new (or working towards new) authentic lives.

It's not how long we've been communicating, it's what we've been saying to each other that makes this so special...straight from the heart!

Common struggles, common triumphs and common sorrows will make brothers and sisters of us all! (&&&)

Well said. Imperfections and struggles bring us all together, and that's why we have culture. In its own manner, it's quite amazing how without all the homophobes and assholes, we wouldn't have this great community or such a sense of understanding.

Hey, that's a great, it's such a big step to finally actually put yourself out there and go out on a date with another guy, leaving your old closeted insecurities at home. Sounds like you two had fun and connected, best of luck going forward with him!

    Hi,

    Congrats.

For educational purposes how did you meet this fellow and set up a date?

Lots of folks seem to find that the highest hurtle.

I learn sooo much from you guys. :thumbsup:Really need to work on my communication skills and I have to keep reminding myself that no one is a mind reader and it is okay to say what's on my mind. Think I have spent too much time hiding my real self, feelings and desires that I got use to keeping everything to myself. Something I am trying to work on.

P.S. Greatrwhale & Eddy, Glad to hear the your first real dates went well.
