I don't know about you, but I tend to think in songs, like there's a soundtrack always playing for any given moment or era.

This era in my life, frankly, sucks. However some songs are taking on fresh meaning, or are new altogether.

So, here's the (growing) playlist for my life right now in a loose chronological order from tragedy to emergence. What's yours?

I'm the Man in the Box - Alice in Chains
"I'm the man in the box, buried in my shit..." Really, is there a more perfect line for the delightful experience of hiding, covering, realizing, confronting, accepting and emerging? I think not.

    Crazy Train - Ozzy Osborne
The whole damn thing is perfect!

    Creep - Radiohead
    • But I'm a creep,
    • I'm a weirdo,
    • What the hell am I doin' here?
    • I don't belong here,

Here I go Again - Whitesnake
Ugh, the angst of high school.

    Freedom - George Michael
I've heard this song a million time, but never really made the connection! It's perfect.

    Carry On - fun.
    My mantra right now.

    Madness - Muse
Future "Our Song" The sexiest song ever.

    Enjoy!

I'm Coming Out - Diana Ross

It's Raining Men and Man, I Feel Like A Women - Shania Twain For my clubbing days.

Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion RIP Mom

Somewhere Out There - Cher and Peter Cetara ?(sp) My true love

It's weird that you made a thread for this.. I think in songs as well, in fact, I am constantly putting songs to situations or even to what people say.

I made a soundtrack for my life when I was in college just in case it ever became a movie lol so I'll post a new one.

Opening Credits: Plush Gun - Just Impolite (Whatever Whatever Remix)
Birth: The Epochs - Mouths to Feed
Childhood: Is Tropical - The Greeks
Dad Dying: Mute Math - Stall Out
First Day of High School: Grouplove - Colours (Captain Cuts Remix)
    Mother's Abuse: Cascadeur - Walker
Leaving Home: Abstract Art - Departure
Graduating High School: Imagine Dragons - On Top Of The World
College: Portugal, The Man - Purple, Yellow, Red and Blue
ARMY: Mona - Listen To Your Love
Moving to Omaha: Matt Costa - Behind The Moon
Meeting my Ex: A Silent Film - You Will Leave A Mark
Moving to be with my Ex: Simian Mobile Disco - I Believe
Physical and Emotional Abuse from Ex: Jack White - Love Is Blindness
Slitting My Wrist: Hot Hot Heat - Outta Heart
Leaving My Ex: Monarchy - Disintegration (Mike Luck Remix)
    Recovery: Younger Brother - Shine
Moving to back to Omaha: Angus and Julia Stone - Boy With A Coin
End of the Movie and into the Credits: Silversun Pickups - Rusted Wheel

I've skipped some life events (especially all the moving I've done), but I don't feel like digging through my music library anymore lol so I'm done

I mean this with a sense of humour so I hope it is taken that way -

'It's Raining Men' - I WISH! No, the weather in my neighbourhood is looking a lot more like Cats because I've always had a penchant for a bit of.............
