I came out to my ex-husband (father to our three boys) last night in a facebook message. He said he had been waiting to hear from me on that subject for a long while. He was happy for me and gave his blessing. Our oldest son is also gay. My ex is patiently waiting for him to say something. Our son needs to know that his dad loves him as much as I do. Yeah, I cried... Yeah, I'm unbelievably happy.
Congratulations! Also, has your son told you he's gay, or is this an educated guess, because you can't know for sure until he confirms it. That can make for some pretty awkward conversations later on.. Trust me, I know :/
Congratulations! I'm really happy for you. My ex wife has been unbelievably supportive of me in my new life. She loves my husband and is positive about the whole situation when talking to our kids. It helps a lot.
Wow -- congratulations! Isn't it great to not hold onto the secret! When I came out to my ex-wife, she looked me in the eye and said " the family has known you're gay for 25 years" (ha!)
My oldest, who came out to me when he was 12, is now 22 and moving out to Virginia for his first post-college job. His dad lives in Virginia. I am hoping that they'll be able to bond again. Him telling his dad will be a happy moment for all of us. I'm excited for him!
