Well, as long as those civil rights end up being guaranteed, then who cares how they got them to add them to their constitution? Of course, saying people have rights & making sure those rights are given to them are two seperate things. I think history shows that even tho the law may change, it can & will take much longer for people's attitudes to change with those laws. Just ask anyone who lived in the US South after the civil rights act was passed...
