The suit comes five weeks after the Pentagon ended its ban on gays in the military.

Lawyers plan to sue in federal district court in Boston, the same court that ruled last year that the federal Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional because it interferes with a state’s right to define marriage. That decision is being appealed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.

The 1996 law bars federal recognition of same-sex marriages performed in states that allow them...

This is so dumb.

As if the state should be able to dictate which type of people can take a central role in a personal ceremony to do with love.

Next they'll be fining people for falling in love with the wrong person!

how does the party, who likes to claim are the only ones who truly support the troops, deal with troops sueing the goverment over a policy that they, the party, defend more than their records show them defending/supporting/funding equipement for the troops themselves?
