Default ABC sitcom 'Work It' offensive?

Offensive ABC sitcom ‘Work It’ will fail simply because it’s not funny – LGBTQ Nation

Quote:
Personally I found the show to be in poor taste and simply not funny. Don’t get me wrong. Men impersonating women (or women impersonating men) isn’t necessarily an offensive subject for comedy in and by itself. Two Academy Award winning movies, “Some Like It Hot” and “Tootsie,” come to mind.

But sometimes when an entertainment piece is walking a fine line between uproariously funny and downright offensive, things like script-writing, three-dimensional characterizations are important.

This is where this show fails big time. The characters are one-dimensional and from what I see, the storyline is even poor.

My guess is that even without the controversy, “Work It” will fail.

What do you guys think?

No more or less offensive than shows such as Will and Grace. Its not really something we need to make a big deal about.

Looks like shit anyway. I didnt laugh once at the trailer.

Never mind offensive. What a hack and unoriginal idea for a sitcom. The execs at ABC out to be thankful for the half-season this publicity will let them have.

If anything, its simply a reworking & retooling of the 80s sitcom Bosom Buddies, with Peter Scholari & Tom Hanks. THAT was a great show! This is probably just a recycle of the same premise, but Ill give it a try...

Also reminds me quite a bit of Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman, which was an AWESOME movie!!!
