I saw it and definitely agree that it was pretty awesome. MNS does such a great job of tapping into a main primal fear in this movie: Agoraphobia, fear of the outside. It was all so earie and creepy and i loved it. Also Mark Wahlberg is hotness xD

I saw it the day it came out, and the theater was full.
    I thought it was cool.
A neat depiction of something that could actually happen.
After the movie, I gave it a 7/10 rating, while all my friends gave it 3's and 4's.
    :/
I liked it well enough that I'd go and see it again.

    And Mark was damn sexy.

    Let's see...

    The idea was amazing,

    but...

Horrible acting. I mean, the female lead was boring... So boring... And odd. The comedy was horrible and out of place. Some of the 'scary' parts were strange. And the movie gave the idea that the young girl was significant, but she WASN'T. She had very little dialogue, absolutely NO symbolism.

Although it was a nice concept, I think the script should've been given to someone who KNEW how to write. And a director who KNEW how to direct.

    And the pacing was bad.

But otherwise, I loved it! :]

I didn't really like this movie, but I loved all of his other films. I thought the best parts were the comedic parts. I hate gore, death, and unhappy things in general, so I wasn't meant to like this movie anyway.

I thought it was awful. Like I took a friend and I was embarrassed.

As seananon said, the acting was AWFUL! I mean it was like it was directed by George Lucas. And I've seen Mark Walberg is other stuff and he's always been fine.

    Zooey Deschanel was totally "off."

    The little kid was pointless.

The whole film was pointless... great idea, crappy execution. I am surprised to say I found The Lady In The Water a much better film. And kept waiting for some kinda twist or "aha!" moment and it... just... never... happened.

I'm surprised people here liked it. It's sad it actually made decent money because now he'll get to make another. *sigh*

... Okay, not seeing it. If anyone... ANYONE, thinks that there's a worse film by M. Night Shaymalan than The Lady In The Water... yeah, I'm still curious, but it can wait until it's available to rent.

    Erm, no.

I mean, it really is impossible. What happened in the movie, something like that can't just MAKE people do what they did.

But I still wouldn't go outside. You'll set it off. And you won't know. AND IT'LL BE TOO LATE.

    I watched it last weekend..

It was sorta nice. The concept and all was great, but like what the others said, some parts of the movie felt useless. I really thought that the math teacher was going to so something special since he went off from the group, but actually, he just... meh.

I won't exactly recommend it. But I've seen worse movies.. ok maybe not.

oooh, and I loved the part when they were in the model home, and the guy was talking to the plant and turns out it was plastic! xD

...I love suspense/horror movies, but I have no ambition to see this whatsoever. I just think the concept is stupid and I wouldn't waste my money on it.

It is a great movie if like me, human nature fascinates you. It just like takes something so simple as the primal instincts that go into play when a species is fascinating complete annialation by forces unknown. And like i said it taps into the most primal fear and is a legit and quite real fear. Yeah the acting wasnt oscar worthy, but i really dont think it had to be. If anyone was in a crisis like that, actually putting in 4 stars worth of acting would make it seem so unreal. People in this world dont really act, i thought they way they acted were the way people would act in such a crisis.

    Spoiler warning v

also love that the environment finally gets to fight back!
