I've got some really painful canker sores positioned in such a way that I end up biting down on them every time I chew on something. So for the last two days all I've been doing is making myself smoothies, but they don't fill me up and they aren't exactly healthy. Does anyone have any suggestions for things I can do to ease the pain or make these things go away faster? Thanks.

There's a mouthwash called peroxel, or something similar. Anytime I've had a mouth sore from whatever and I've used that, the injury has healed up pretty quickly.

Rinse with salt water? You just dissolve some salt in water and swirl it around in your mouth...

Orajel can help with the pain. Do some extra listerine and put salt directly on the sores. Avoid anything spicy or acidic, as those can aggrivate the sores.

I used to suffer from these quite a lot, curiously (and I'm not the only one) getting extra sleep seems to help (weird no?)

One thing that's good is to eat oily foods (foods with olive oil, etc) - the oil coats the sore and keeps it from hurting for a while.

Baby Orajel is good too. It numbs the area and you don't feel a thing. You just gotta remember to apply it once the area starts to hurt again. I used this the last time I had a canker sore; it helped so much and it (seemed) to go away faster than normal.
