I have a high metabolism but i'm losing weight too much. I currently weigh 100 pounds. I'm 5'2 and 17 years old. I have tried over and over again to gain weight. I eat like a goddam pig but still nothing. I tried eating healthy, I didn't gain anything.

I don't exercise. I lay in my bed like....60% of the day.

Lately for the past year though, I've been under so much stress. its ridiculous.
I have NEVER got up to 110 pounds, its always been less than that.

what do I do? is there something wrong?

Have you considered seeing a nutritionist?

I've never been to one, but I had a friend in high school who had problems gaining weight and said the dietary plan they were able to help him come up with was helpful.

Isn't 100 pounds an appropriate weight for your height? What's your BMI? http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.htm

Anyways, I know what you mean. I can eat like a pig for a whole month and barely get half a kilo. It's genetic, as my mom was like that too when she was younger, and only started gaining weight after she had my sister. You're a girl though. Isn't being skinny a good thing? :S

Yes, it appears you are, slightly. Go to a nutritionist. Maybe there are some pills you can take? If it's strictly physiological, only a dr. can help.

Ask your GP to check your thyroid (it's a simple blood test)

Thyroid controls the whole body. One of the symptoms of hyperfunctional thyroid is loss of weight.

My brother couldnt gain wait when he was younger (like 10-12yrs) and his nutritionist put him on whole milk because of the high fat content. If you can stomach cream in your cereal that's what I would suggest. It really helped him. He was up like 5lbs in 2-3weeks! (Drinking it everyday, as much as is recommended by canadian nutrition guide)
