Family Research Council Is it just me, or does this seem like most of the information here sound exaggerated?
For those who don't know, Family Research Council, along with NARTH and the extremely deceptive-sounding American College of Pediatricians (which is not the real association of pediatricians) are all right-wing antigay extremist groups. They lie, cheat, publish bogus studies, and have a panel of "experts" (one of whom was outed as a closet poof) who testify or consult for government agencies when any sort of equal rights agenda is proposed, such as allowing gay families to adopt. Anything these people publish, you can pretty much assume is full of crap.
^ no way! I was just thinking i was reading that weird. I suppose that one "gays have an average of 100 partners" bull shoulda clued me they werent for real. Thanks for the info. EDIT: shoulda seen the side articles im an idiot XD
Thank you for this, I never heard of these people and I am kind of glad I didn't. Now I know who to avoid.
You have to love the irony of how they cite the American Medical Association, which has directly stated that homosexuality is not any sort of disease, is not something that is chosen, and have even gone as far as to make specify policy stating that LGBTs should not be discriminated against: AMA Policy Regarding Sexual Orientation
That reminds me of the MySpace story ages ago about a boy named Zach in Tennessee who came out to his mum and dad and was forced into 'Reparation Therapy' in the ironically named religious group 'LOVE IN ACTION'. That was an eye opener for me on this issue of Ex-Gay...but the funniest part of this is so many of the so called Ex-Gay Ministers who were so against homosexuality, condemned it and denied who they were...well they ended up back in the arms of the same gender later in life. What goes around comes around
Gosh, I'm sorry if my previous comment came across as rude. I had no idea you didn't know about Family Research Council, qwr42.
