Recently got prescribed it and I'm scared shitless to take it as I am hyper sensitive to meds and usually end up in the ER with severe reactions. I got prescribed it for mood swings not epilepsy. Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of it...

    Just sayin,
but if that is a common reaction for you, you probably shouldn't be getting prescribed anything without consulting an immunologist specialising in such reactions

I take 200mg 2x/day. It has greatly improved my mood swings, and get back to myself.

srslywtf: very good point. It is pissing me off they keep brushing these things under the carpet. My docs: "Oh LigLog just ended up in hospital again due to a drug reaction, ah well." Since posting last I've taken Lamotrigine & I've had my asthma get worse, been short of breath, had a swollen face and woke up feeling like I was gonna go mad.

Trace: did you have side effects at all???

When I would up the dose, I would get a little tired and got a tad constipated.

  6. If you're already having bad side effects, you should call your doctor (and if it's serious, go to the hospital, but I don't need to tell you, sounds like you have some experience with bad med reactions)

I had heartburn for a couple weeks after I started taking lamictal (the name brand of lamotrigine) and then it went away.

My girlfriend however got a rash all over her body and had to stop taking it

it really depends on the person.
