I went to a specialist yesterday and it was finally answered.I kept on having pain in my left hand,a couple of my fingers would go stiff and would hurt.My doctor sent me to a specialist dealing with arthritis on Tuesday when I saw him,he said it was possibly arthritis and he was right.Did all the testing including an x ray of my left hand.Specialist said I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which I have to live with this the rest of my life.Luckily it can be controled with medication and was put on it.I am on xeljanz to control it.I am learning about it,people ages 30 to 50 can get this, not just an old person's disease.

I am sorry, Alexis. I hope you will tolerate the medication and it won't cause you any troubles. *hug*

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but it's good that it was caught early. You will probably have learned about DMARDS or Disease Modifying Antirheumatic drugs, and there are new ones coming down the pipeline pretty consistently. They aren't the easiest things to take, but controlling the inflammation is really important.

The best advice I can give you is stick with the drug regimen as closely as possible, and be aware of, and monitor for the side effects (and inform your doc), the next best advice is to find a competent rheumatologist, this is key.

I wish you the best of luck in your treatment!

I have suffered Arthritis in my right ankle and knee, right shoulder and right wrist since my early 20's and the best thing I have found to help me control the symptoms is increase water intake until I am literally peeing every hour, and Flaxseed and coQ10 has also worked very well for me in the sense that I get painful bouts less frequently and the duration of a painful bout is reduced.

I don't tolerate anti-inflammatories or NSAIDS very well so I do everything I possibly can to control rather than treat the condition.
