I flip out if I feel like I don't have enough time to do something or if I feel like I am going to be late. I get all moody and sometimes yell if someone makes me even more late or interrupts me while getting ready. I start breathing really fast and heavily(hyperventilating?) and just start to really freak out. My stomach gets all twisty in knots and just a weird nervous feeling. My pulse either races or heart beats hard. I've been known to cry from being late because it bothers me so much. My friend said it sounds like I'm having panic attacks. Are they panic or anxiety attacks? I don't know what to do other than try to take deep breaths and try to calm down

Another thing, I get the same nervous/anxious feeling whenever I think about things stressful like having to memorize lines for a play or assignments due the next day which is almost all the time. I don't know if its anxiety or something? I don't know what to do or what it it

I have a play in like one month exactly and every time I think about it my stomach gets in knots and hurts. Either its only my stomach or I will go into another flip out and hyperventilate and what not.

    PLEASE HELP. Pretty pretty please.

Hey relax! I guess you are just panicking because you are about to do something and maybe you are thinking too much or worried about things that it might turn out bad that's why you are breathing heavily and have that weird feeling in your stomach. Try to be calmer next time and not to think too much it might help to calm your nerves and mind. Think happy thoughts to divert your attention and if still things won't work or if gets worst try visiting a doctor or specialist on these stuff. They might recommend you what to do or some medicine to help you relax.

Hope this helps..Take good care of yourself though!

Hi ema, nice to meet you

What you are experiencing does indeed sound like panic/anxiety. Normally I recommend people do some belly breathing. Breath in deep and slow but try to use your stomach to breathe. If you feel your shoulders rising then you aren't using the belly. D that several times in a row preferably when you feel panic beginning to start

I also recommend to my clients progressive muscle relaxation but this is generally done when you are not in panic. Basically when you are laying down in a quiet calm place, stretch and tense your feet as much as you can while taking a breath in, then as you release, slowly relax your feet. Then do the calves, knees, thighs, stomach, chest, hands, lower arms, upper arms, neck and face. Repeat the process for each muscle group

**CAUTION** If there is any area on your body (joint, muscle, bone) that is injured do NOT flex and tense that area

Otherwise, if it severaly affecting your life, a visit to a doctor or specialist is a good idea.

It sounds like anxiety to me. For which I have resorted to medication through my doctor - as a short term solution. But like others, you may not want to resort to medication in which case there are relaxation techniques etc (above)

Long term you could talk to your doctor about it and maybe some counselling to find out what the root cause is.

For a good sleep .. there are "sleep hygiene" methods of getting a good nights sleep (google it)

    and cut down on caffeine

Thank you all for the advice. I will certainly try belly breathing and that muscle relaxing Thing. Hopefully it helps. If it doesn't then I'll go to a doctor.
