Not sure if this belongs in this section, but I think so. I am unfortunately a mildly hairy guy, which I hate. I have tried shaving the hair off, but I hate dealing with shaving cuts and razor burn. Is there an effective alternative to shaving, like a something topical or anything else I could try? Any advice is welcome.

Well I don't have any recommendations for other products, but are you using a nice razor and nice shaving cream/oil when you try shaving? That can make a big difference.

I have problems with shaving as I have skin problems and get major inflammation/skin irritation but the only thing I've found that helps a bit is instead of using shaving cream use an antibacterial antiseptic cream and use warm water to spread it over the area then shave with a good razor. Even better if you can get one with a mild anesthetic like germoline (don't know if you have that where you are, they sell it here in the uk but I'm sure there are similar alternatives). It helps reduce irritation.

Exact same problem over here! I tried using hair removal cream from tesco (think it was "veet") but ended up with minor scarring in some areas :| think that's just due to my sensitive skin. Anybody know any removal cream brands that could help us sensitive people? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Waxing works pretty well if you can put up with a slight sting.

I use an electric razor/ trimmer. It does not really irritate my skin at all. Also, don't let it get very long at all. Keep it trimmed down or shaved and it will not be as big of a hassle as when it grows out.

Epilating. I'm actually surprised that hardly any people do this. Sure, it will hurt like hell at first, but with time you will get used to it, plus you only need to do it approximately once every 2-3 weeks.

Waxing is ok too but way more difficult, messy etc.

It would work, but it'd be painful if you're doing it the first time. A lot of folks prefer to get the areas professionally waxed for the first time, and then use an epilator for the regrowth because it will be much less painful.

There is cream I can't remember what it's called where you put it on after a while wait and it it removes hair while you shower but it's not for your delicate area it might remove something else.

That's exactly what epilating is for. And it's not as painful as many people claim. When you first put the epilator on your skin it does hurt (every time), but within a minute you get used to it and pain turns into tingling.

But yes, getting waxed first is a good idea. The longer the hair is, the more painful it is to epilate.

I can't afford a full body wax so is it an idea to use removal cream all over and then in the future epilate? (I don't want to epilate straight away as my hairs are long
