I'm 15 years old and just found out I have phimosis. There are tons of forums and articles to help remedy this issue, but I'm looking for advice that will help resolve my own personal problem. I never even knew until recently (i.e. a few months ago) that my foreskin was supposed to retract over the glans. I've been watching porn for a while and lately stumbled upon a video of a man retracting his foreskin all the way before penetrating his partner. My mother and pediatrician had always told me when I was younger to pull my foreskin back for cleaning purposes. So what route should I take? I've been thinking about buying some steroid ointment and doing the stretches myself and at the last resort, seek medical help and get advice from someone who's specialized. Should I just go ahead and do the latter or if I do the former, what kind of stretches should I be doing? I'd want to get this cured sooner than later, because I've heard that smegma and a bunch of other crap can build up down there if I don't take action. Thanks!
Hi, when I was around your age I discovered I had phimosis, I went to my GP and he referred me to an (a?) urologist. The later said I had to be circumcised and so I was. Before someone accuses me of promoting circumcision, I tell you I'm not, as I'm no specialist and every case is different. I've heard about those creams and stretching exercises but dunno how and if they work. In any case I suggest you go directly to a doctor, not as a last resort. Good luck!
Don't leave it to exercises, get medical advice. Above all, you need to be able to retract your foreskin easily for cleaning and hygiene.
Mine is tight also. my doctor said it wasn't an issue if it isn't painful when i get an erection and i can get it back to clean when soft (i can). i randomly thought it would be a good idea to force it back when i was hard once and my foreskin was sore for like 2 days after that so i would avoid ever doing that. i have a lot of excess foreskin which is eh, but i would definitely avoid circumciision though.
Best to see a doctor, they will advise you on what is best. However, I will reassure you that all is not lost! It's a fairly common condition and usually resolves quite easily. I had the same problem until I was about 11. All I needed to do to fix the problem was retract is as much as I could (but not forcing it!) and clean the inside in the shower every day, and it eventually stretched out. A cream might be necessary, but I would only go for circum as a last resort. Oh, and don't be embarrassed, I'm pretty sure this is more or less common even for 15 year olds (everyone develops differently). But yeah, go to the doctor and you should be able to get it fixed up.
Thanks for such great responses, you guys! For the next week or so, I'll try different stretching methods and if to no avail, I'll definitely get some medical help.
