So hypothetically, let's say you were with a guy and you had sex. And you bare backed but he didn't ejaculate inside you. Is that still safe? (I used protection. Just curious)
No. STIs are not exclusively in semen. Depending on type, can be present in precum, on the penis, and in the genital region. I'm off to bed now, but I'll come back tomorrow.
I'd say no. Point #1: even if he doesn't ejaculate, there is the possibility of some precum that could transmit HIV. Point #2: this scenario assumes he withdraws before ejaculating. While this is interesting to think about for the sake of argument, it's probably a really bad idea to bank on it reliably happening in the real world. It is easy to say I'll withdraw before ejaculation. But in the heat of the moment, many guys won't do it. They won't have the will power. They will be so wrapped up in the current moment. Whatever. This is one reason cited for why "withdrawal" is unreliable as a birth control method.
Alright. Thanks. ...okay, so I actually barebacked my first time. He pulled out but I'm honestly kinda worried if I need to worry about things besides STIs... :\
Uh, Doc. Yes, you do, just possibly. :icon_sad: Get yourself tested for both things and don't ever do it again unless certain circumstances allow it.
Even if he doesn't cum, you still need to think about things like pre-cum during bareback sex. That's really all it takes. If you barebacked it's best to get tested for all STI's.
Alright, will do. :\ It's just, where do I go for that discreetly? Planned Parenthood? Trust me, this is a one-time thing. I'll keep alert.
