Tomorrow I have to go get another blood test.

    Joy.

Reason being? I am really really ridiculously tired again. And everything is seeming fine but like...my temp is slightly elevated and I keep getting these headaches and feeling queasy and my throat really hurts and then suddenly stops hurting and my joints ache and yeah..just really ridiculously overly tired again.

So I went to the doc's and she's getting me to have a blood test tomorrow, for like everything you can think of. Iron, vit D, thyroid, kidney, full blood workup (white cells, platelets etc), epstein barr serum, general infection.

If that's not broad spectrum testing I don't know what is.

  2. Aw that's rough Tess. I hope this time they find out what's causing the problem.

That's rough, but try not to sweat it. Tests can be stressful, but in the end you will be happier if they can find the problem and correct it. I had pretty much the same symptoms you're describing and I turned out to have a hyperactive thyroid. It's a quick fix, and my quality of life has definitely gone up since they fixed it (although I did NOT like the blood test one bit, it was definitely worth it) Try not to sweat it honey ♥

The good thing is they take about the same amount of blood whether you are taking one test or fifteen. I'm a cancer survivor and have no thyroid so I have to get these annually.

It's going to be alright Tess. Hopefully the doctors will be able to find out what the problem is.

It's gonna be okay. I'm a lab tech and I draw blood on people all the time with a lot of those symptoms and they turn out okay! Good luck!

I think I'll just be generally stressed (about the needles), because I'm also meant to be getting my last HPV needle tomorrow as well, plus I have 4 hours of maths class tomorrow..so I won't be enjoying it much. I know it doesn't hurt much but I'm a WIMP when it comes to needles, and I always feel really faint afterwards, because my blood pressure is like...100/60..so it's kinda low.

But I'll let you know the results. I should be getting them later in the week.

*hands Tess a chocolate bunny*... Seriously though take some chocolate with you, the sugar boost will do you good and pick you up afterwards. Lottie fainted in the street after her last blood test so I do know how difficult it is for you (more the fear of needles than the actual test itself). Try to think of anything but the needles and put it out of your mind before your math test. Easier said than done I know but I'm rooting for you.

Like Louise said, taking sugary food with you for after the test may help.

Do tell us how the blood test goes, and good luck

A tip that worked for me: chew gum while they're taking blood, then spit it out and shove in a handful of chocolate.
Seriously. It works. Keeps me from passing out all the time.
Yay for having an older sister who hyperventilates a lot and gives you tips! *dancing*

after you're done getting the test, go to the chemist and get those glucose jelly beans.

and eat all the black ones first, because they are the best...

    hope it turns out alright..
    hugs

Okay. Got the tests. I stole some of dad's humbugs afterwards, didn't pass out.

Now I just gotta stew on it for 3 days until thursday when I get my results.
