I don't remember but I believe I've heard somewhere that some people can't feel pleasure during anal sex no matter how they try because they have different nerve endings in their anus that only give a feeling of pain when it is stimulated. Is that true? Could anal sex hurt even after if you put lots of lube, do it slowly, relax and it is beyond your first time? Do you have to be lucky for anal sex to be pleasurable?

No I'm pretty confident in saying that most people will find it pleasurable if they take all the right steps and preparations you've mentioned - it's not like there is only a lucky minority.

There are definitely people that don't enjoy it though. However I would say for the majority of those it isn't because of any physiological differences in their rectum or anus or the nerves down there, but is instead a psychological predisposition against enjoying the sensation of receptive anal sex - usually they don't like the idea of having something up their butt and that dislike overwhelms any potential pleasure, and then because they don't like the idea they tighten and clench up making sex difficult and painful, which only reinforces their dislike of it.

There are certainly a number of physical conditions that would make anal sex unpleasant - prolapse, fissures, hemmorhoids, and so on - but they aren't common enough to explain every case of someone not liking anal sex.

I don't know if there is a condition where someone only has pain receptor nerves in their rectum and anus, but there are a heck of a lot of specialised nerves in there that are used for bowel control and if they were absent you'd definitely know about it.
