I have a sneaking suspicion that your referring to stretch marks. Its just you growing into your skin. There was another thread about stretch marks somewhere a month ago, and it seems a lot of us regular EC folk have them. There was talk of rubbing alovera on it, to soften the marks, but not sure. hopefully someone more experienced in this field will come post, but if they are red / purple scar like marks, that are flat... im sure its just stretch marks
They do sound like stretch marks, but some more information would be good It would be helpful if you could tell us a bit more about how long you've had these and whether they hurt or anything. But I don't think they're anything to be worrying too much about.
do they look a bit like those? http://www.visualdxhealth.com/images/dx/webAdult/striae_3962_lg.jpg most likely not that extreme, but you get the idea. And yes, those are stretchmarks
I think they do fade. But they may never go totally away. Do a google search and you might find some home remedies and other treatments to help reduce their appearance.
Try not to worry they will fade with time. Getting stretch marks depends on how elastic your skin is and how much weight is gained. The purplish-blue lines that appear are a result of having more elasticy (sp?) skin. When someone loses weight the stretch marks usually remain but will have faded and become pale and less noticeable. There are lots of creams, oils and ointments out there that claim to remove stretch marks, but unfortuantly there's no scientific evidence that any of them remove them. But it doesn't mean shouldn't try one if you wish.
