My dreams are bothering me because the majority of them have been ridiculously inappropriate recently. I'm not sure how to control them or stop them. They usually involve people (guys) I know and it getting awkward.

I have constant nightmares and I've tried everything to stop them but haven't found anything. Even my therapist says you can't stop them. Unless you figure out lucid dreaming you're just kinda stuck with them im sorry to say.

    - you can try to decipher your dreams, and act accordingly.
    - you can try to change the outcome of your dream mentally when awake
-you can look up the link above about nightmares.
Do you eat heavy before going to sleep, do you watch disturbing pictures on tv right before going to sleep, etc...

A little off topic, but do you have a pet? They can be very calming and reduce the frequency of nightmares. Dogs in particular can be trained to wake people from nightmares and/or ground them. I'm sorry you have nightmares. I can't imagine how difficult that is for you.

Are they 'inappropriate' in a sexual way - or nightmares??

There's not much to do but to wait them out, to be honest. It's just something that happens because of puberty and all that jazz.

And I can sympathize with how awkward it can be when it involves guys you know. *Especially* with guys you're not attracted to in real life.

As long as there is REM, there will be all sorts of dreams. There is such thing as lucid dreaming, but I honestly have no idea how it works.

Don't trust her. I've yet had a nightmare I cannot break out of. I haven't gone through a full nightmare since before I was a teenager. I thought my brother told me to down from 10 to wake up, so I did it and woke up. He said he's never done this though.
