I had a breast reduction on Friday, March 13th. I'm officially two weeks post op! :eusa_danc

I spent Friday night in the hospital and went home Saturday afternoon. I'd been having nausea on and off since I woke up from surgery, but it had been kept at bay with IV anti-emitics. By Sunday, it had worn off and I was very nauseated. I tried taking the anti-nausea pills my surgeon prescribed, but I threw them up. I ended up spending the night in the ER because I got so dehydrated. They finally found an anti-emitic that worked and I went home Monday morning. I managed to keep my pills down after that.

I had a fair bit of pain in the hospital. I had a pump, and it made me super dizzy so I didn't use it much after the first few hours. The pain was only really bad the first 3 or so days. It never got to the point of agony, but I was pretty uncomfortable. I didn't take anything except Aleve after Monday night because I just didn't hurt that much.

I got the ace bandage removed the next Thursday as well as most of my sutures. I've been wearing basic sports bras since then (looking for something a bit sturdier). I also have dressings over my nipples. They're just nonstick pads with antibiotic ointment on them. Initially, I secured them with tape, but I ended up have an allergic reaction to it. My surgeon removed ALL the tape, including the stuff over my incisions, which hurt like a :***: My bra now holds the dressings on just fine.

Other than those two incidents, I'm recovering very well. I went back to my normal school and work schedule on Tuesday, 11 days post op. I am SO glad I got this done. My back feels so much better. I can breathe more easily as well. I'm not sleeping very well, but that's mostly because I'm a stomach sleeper and I can't right now. And I have trouble sleeping in general.

Oh, and my insurance covered the procedure.

If you want more details, just ask! I won't spare any gory details.

Congrats! Must be a good feeling, after the post op pain is gone, being free of that useless weight.

I'm surprised you can get back to normal life so soon.

The nausea afterwards is a common thing?

Yeah, nausea is a common reaction to the anesthesia. My case was pretty severe though.
