I've never tried any drugs (and I don't plan to) but the creepy meth commercials that are so gross really make me want to try it.

One word about Crystal Meth: Dangerous.

Here's some facts. Crystal Meth, if smoked enough can destroy the 'pleasure centers' in your brain. If someone were to take an x-ray of your head, they would see big, black empty spots. Your lungs will get messed up, if you smoke it. Then there's meth mouth. When you smoke meth it eats away at your teeth so your mouth ends up look like this :



Also, it can cause liver damage, kidney damage, and make you more resistant to illness.

So, my advice about meth? DON'T DO IT!!!!

It's crystal meth. Don't do it. Anyone who's ever read Crank or Glass could tell you it's a terrible drug. Like Trumpetplyer said, it destroys the pleasure centers in your brain. Fun activities become less fun. You end up wanting more and more meth to satisfy yourself. It also ruins your body's ability to make its own endorphins- meaning after a while, you can't make yourself feel better with excercise, masturbation, etc.

I only know this from an episode of Bad Girls...lol, but Crystal Meth can be made from household cleaning ingredients...in a kettle. Well, thats what she did in Larkhall

Explaining how to make it in a bathroom on here is illegal - I doubt anyone is about to tell you.

The effects are bad and there's lots of them. Posted above are just some of the more commonly known ones.

It's VERY easy to get hooked on and unlike most drugs, almost all the effects (especailly the psychological and the hormonal) are permanent.

To be completely honest, I'm surprised that people are entertaining the idea of taking crystal meth recreationally. Perhaps I'm living in a bubble where the government has brainwashed me into think that "Drugs are bad, mmk?", but I am passionately against people taking crystal meth. I mean, the physical side-effects are pretty nasty:

increased energy
change in libido
increased sweating
decrease in appetite (anorexia)
insomnia, dilated pupils
tightened jaw muscles (trismus)
teeth grinding (bruxism)
itching
nausea
vomiting
diarrhea
shortness of breath
involuntary body movements (twitches, grimacing, lip smacking, etc)
increased heart rate
increased blood pressure
vasoconstriction
dry mouth
difficulty in urination

Psychological effects include:
rapid speech
irritability
nervousness
anxiety
paranoia
delusions of grandeur
panic
aggressive and sometimes violent behavior
severe depression
suicidal tendencies
hyperactivity and excitability
increased sense of well-being
emotional lability
hallucinations
paranoia
delusions

Serious physical effects include:
possibly fatal lung and kidney disorders
possible brain damage
lowered resistance to illnesses
liver damage
stroke

And I hear withdrawal is a B*TCH!

So, I know if a person takes this drug, they're not going to experience all of these side-effects...but out of all drugs, crystal meth is the one I would NOT touch. It just doesn't seem worth it

I have heard some people defend Meth as just being 'recreational'. I had the misfortune to live next door (apartment with common walls) to a girl who became a Meth head and I saw first hand the effect it can have.

In little more than 6 months she went from slightly (but not unhealthily) overweight to a bag of bones with rotten teeth and paranoid psychosis. By this time, she would likely come home past midnight, slam doors, play the stereo at full volume. It was a nightmare.

She got carted off the the psych ward once (following the police breaking her door down at 2.30am following a suicidal phone call) - and a week later they let her go - and it started all over again. The second time she didn't come back when she again went totally over the edge...while she had her 14 Y/O son (whose father had custody) staying with her. Nevertheless it was two months of hell following a few earlier months of increasingly anti social annoyance.

I wouldn't recommend Crystal Meth to anyone...

Oh - and don't think I'm just one of those puritanical old farts - I tried all sorts of things when I was young and stupid (as opposed to now being old and silly, LOL). Luckily I came out the other side OK...

My friend took some once with his gf and they had sex for 7hrs
They stopped because the sun was coming up.
He only took it once, never got addicted cos he knows the risks, there a huge difference between using and abusing.
Of course if you do try it, it's gonna be fun and all but just remember the risks.
Oh and they told me that coming down from the drug was HORRIBLE, they almost called an ambulance.

The withdrawal is nasty. One of my friends used to do it and she needed rehab in order to kick it. People tend to be complete beasts when they're under it too. I've heard a lot of people get really enraged under it.

The only person I've ever been somewhat close with who died passed away in his sleep after overdosing on meth... so yeah I'd stay away from it. I worked with him and I still get down every time I see his mom, dad, or sister come in the store. :icon_sad:

I did a detox when I was 19 years old. It is not fun. I started with boring old grass, then looked for something more exciting. Stay away from this stuff. As for "legal" drugs, if you take them, try to do a detox regularly. Give up coffee, alcohol, pornography, or whatever regularly and completely - just to make sure you can do it... If you cannot cope without something, you are in trouble. Really stay away. I have seen too many people destroyed by just a bit of fun!

I have a more liberal attitiude like TriBi but there have been three drugs that I've seen over the years that I could never in good conscience say that someone should ever try. Crystal meth/Tina is by far the worst.

Less than 10% of meth addicts are able to kick the habit after a stay in rehab. The draw of the drug is that strong. There's a serious problem in the gay community in urban areas with crystal and it's very connected with the new HIV infections in the community. It's very tied to the self-hatred and body-acceptance issues that many gay men and lesbians have.

If you ever have the misfortune of seeing someone you know after a meth binge, it's not pretty. It's just a bad idea to get involved with it.
