    So a while ago I found out I had genital warts, and they have been pretty
    bad down there so I went to a specialist today and he had a look, and it
    looks like I have to go in for surgery. Possibly a day operation and over night stay.

    So dissapointed in myself. I answered all kinds of questions ,
    and I wear condoms when I have sex with a guy/ girl , think this happened
    before I made up my mind about being gay..

    not sure if some one I slept with didn't use a condom .. not sure..

    so bloody frustrated with my self...:bang::bang::bang::***::***::***:
    so ashamed as I am looking for a boyfriend but just don't know if its on the cards any more.. at least not for some time ...
    please make sure your partner is wearing protection, I will have to teach myself to feel him before he enters me , the next time I'm with a guy...

    darn it..:bang::bang::bang::bang:

  2. i am not expert on this but from what i have ready ANYONE who is sexually active can get HPV (the virus that causes sexual genital warts). Even if you are wearing a condom because condoms to do not cover all areas of the genitals in which if skin to skin contact occurs it can be passed. so there's not much you can do for about it. they do have some vacinnations against some strains of hpv but they are mostly given to girls and boys before a certain age. also i read that ones's immune system passes the virus after some time so doesnt' that mean that you wont have this for life?? this is what i am unsure of.... did the docs tell you about this.

    also, from what i read warts DO NOT have to be present on your partner for you to have them passed to you. it can be lying dormant in the skin tissues. so even if you have been careful and done inspections, it can still be passed. i am really afraif of hpv because it seems like its nothing you can do to protect yourself. condoms of course and visual inspections are great but not full proof it seems.

    also i read somewhere that many people are already infected with and do not know it because it does not always present with warts and there's no test for it until something appears. so basically there's not much you can do. event he vaccination only guards against a few strains of the virus but not all of them.

    no one has told me anything other than needing surgery ,
    I'm surprised I haven't been given antibiotics or anything to get rid of it...
    I want a boyfriend but don't want to give him anything ..

    HPV can infect areas not protected against condom, and they are not really effective against it and herpes, because these diseases are skin disease.
